GPs partners in Northern Ireland voted overwhelmingly in favour of taking collective action for a better 2025/2026 contract offer.
Next steps - referendum on collective action
GP partners in Northern Ireland have voted overwhelmingly in favour of collective action, 98.7% of those who voted said they were willing to take collective action. NIGPC now urges GP partners to start taking at least one of the easy, safe and sustainable actions. Collective action will turn up the pressure on the Government to do the right thing for general practice and patients. We need more core funding to protect general practice.
BMA: Collective Action by GP Practices Northern Ireland
Please stand with us and support the fight for better funding in gp practices in northern ireland. You, the patients, deserve better and we need more funding to provide services that are safe for all doctors and their teams who are making decisions on your individual health needs daily:
- we want to be able to provide the service our valued patients deserve
- we’ve had a service contract imposed on us by mike nesbitt – health minister for northern ireland that is underfunded to the degree that staffing and patient service provision will be at risk and suffer
- gp practices are in crisis. We work as small businesses
- over 28 gp practices have closed in northern ireland since 2018
- stand with us – don’t let your practice be next to close!
- support your practice and their staff in these actions!
- remember what happened to your nhs dental care?
If you would like to support general practice secure additional funding please write to your local MLA or directly to Mike Nesbitt, Health Minister for Northern Ireland.
Your support for our practice and staff is appreciated thank you.
